Francesco Casu received the Laurea degree (summa cum laude) and the PhD in electronic engineering from the University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, in 2003 and 2009 respectively. Since 2003, he has been with the IREA-CNR (Napoli, Italy) where he currently holds a permanent Researcher position. He was a Visiting Scientist with the University of Texas at Austin (2004), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena (2005), and the Department of Geophysics at the Stanford University (2009). His main research interests are in the DInSAR field, in the multi-pass interferometry (particularly concerning the improvement of the SBAS-DInSAR algorithm) and in the SBAS-DInSAR measurement assessment. He is also involved in the development and application of DInSAR techniques to data acquired by novel generation satellites such as COSMO-SkyMed, TerraSAR-X and ALOS-PALSAR. More recently, he started a new research activity related to the development of unsupervised DInSAR algorithms within high performance computing platforms, with particular reference to Cloud Environments. Dr. Casu has been the scientific responsible of several national and international Reserach Project.
