Attività

L'attività di ricerca di Mariarosaria Manzo riguarda sia lo sviluppo e l’applicazione di algoritmi per la generazione di mappe e serie storiche di deformazione ottenute con tecniche avanzate di Interferometria Differenziale Radar ad Apertura Sintetica (DInSAR) a partire da dati SAR acquisiti da sensori di vecchia e nuova generazione; sia lo sviluppo di algoritmi di inversione/ottimizzazione per la modellazione analitica delle sorgenti responsabili di fenomeni deformativi in aree sismiche e vulcaniche a partire da dati DInSAR e geodetici.

Mariarosaria Manzo è nata a Napoli nel 1973 dove si è laureata con lode (1998) in Matematica presso l’Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”. Nel dicembre 2008 ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Metodi e Tecnologie per il Monitoraggio Ambientale presso l’Università degli Studi della Basilicata (Potenza). Nel 2002 ha iniziato la sua attività di ricerca presso l’IREA-CNR, dove attualmente occupa la posizione di ricercatore a tempo indeterminato.

E' stata Visiting Scientist presso il German Aerospace Center (DLR) di Oberpfaffenhofen (Germania) nel 2004, e presso il Geodesy Laboratory, Division of Marine Geology and Geophysics, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami (Florida, USA) nel 2007.

Dal 2004 partecipa attivamente alle attività di ricerca connesse a numerosi progetti nazionali ed internazionali, nell’ambito dei quali ha ricoperto/ricopre anche ruoli di responsabilità scientifica.

I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano l’Interferometria Differenziale Radar ad Apertura Sintetica (DInSAR); in particolare, si occupa dello sviluppo ed applicazione di algoritmi per la generazione di mappe e serie storiche deformazione a partire da dati SAR acquisisti con sensori di vecchia e nuova generazione. Attualmente si interessa anche dello sviluppo di algoritmi di inversione/ottimizzazione per la modellazione analitica delle sorgenti responsabili di fenomeni deformativi in aree sismiche e vulcaniche a partire da dati DInSAR e geodetici.
