Attività

L'attività di ricerca di Francesco Soldovieri  riguarda principalmente lo sviluppo di approcci di inversione, basati su modellistica elettromagnetica, per l’elaborazione di dati radar in close e far  sensing con riferimento a diversi campi applicativi fra i quali: archeologia, diagnostica di beni culturali, geofisica, monitoraggio di infrastrutture, security.

Curriculum - ITA

Francesco Soldovieri si è laureato in Ingegneria Elettronica nel 1992 presso l’Università di Salerno. Ha poi conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria Elettronica, con un curriculum di Elettromagnetismo Applicato, nel 1996 presso l’Università di  Napoli “Federico II" discutendo la tesi dal titolo “Misure in solo modulo di antenne” (tutore il Prof. O.m. Bucci).

Ha svolto dal 1993 fino al 1999 attività di ricerca in collaborazione con il Gruppo di Elettromagnetismo dell’Università di Napoli “Federico II” anche grazie ad una borsa di studio post-dottorato nel biennio 1998-1999. Nel biennio 1999-2000 ha svolto attività di ricerca presso la Seconda Università di Napoli in collaborazione con il Gruppo di ricerca di Elettromagnetismo Applicato con riferimento a tematiche di diagnostica di antenne e problemi di diffusione elettromagnetica inversa.Dal 2001 al 2006 è stato Ricercatore presso l’Istituto per il Rilevamento Elettromagnetico dell’Ambiente del CNR e dal  2006 è Primo Ricercatore presso lo stesso Istituto.

E’ stato membro di Comitati Scientifici e Technical Review Panels di diverse edizioni della International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (2004, 2006, 2008) e dello International Workshop on Advanced Ground Penetrating Radar (2003, 2005, 2009, 2011), di IGARSS (2008, 2009, 2010). E’ stato organizzatore/convener di sessioni a : PIERS (2005) e EGU General Assembly (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).

E’ stato  General Chair dello International Workshop on Advanced Ground Penetrating Radar 2007, Napoli, Italy. E’ stato General Co-Chair della International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar, Lecce, Italy, Giugno 2010.

E’ stato  Guest Editor per diversi Special Issues su:  Advances in Geosciences (Nov. 2008 e 2010), Near Surface Geophysics (Dec. 2008, October 2010), Journal of Applied Geophysics (March 2009), Journal of Geophysics and Engineering (2010, 2011),  International Water Technology Journal (2011), International Journal of Geophysics (2011).

E’ revisore di molte riviste internazionali, fra le quali le più importanti sono: IEEE Antennas and Propagation Trans., IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Trans., IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, Geophysics, Electronic Letters, Journal of Optical Society Pt. A,  Inverse Problems, Journal of Geophysics and Engineering, Near Surface Geophysics.

Fa parte dell'Editorial Board di diversi giornalifra i quali; IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters (IEEE GRSL), di Journal of Geophysics and Engineering (JGE), di Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and  Data Systems (GI-EGU).  

E’ stato professore a contratto presso le Università “Mediterranea” di Reggio Calabria e la Seconda Università di Napoli tenendo corsi  in Campi Elettromagnetici, Antenne, Microonde, Diagnostica Elettromagnetica

Ha ricevuto il premio 1999 Honorable Mention for the H.A. Wheeler Applications Prize Paper Award of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society che riconosce il mgliore lavoro applicativo.

Francesco Soldovieri ha coordinato il progetto biennale “Monitoraggio Elettromagnetico per la stabilità strutturale di edifici storici” finanziato dalla Regione Campania nel biennio 2002-2003.

E’ Coordinatore Tecnico/scientifico del progetto “Integrated System for Transport Infrastructures surveillance and Monitoring by Electromagnetic Sensing ” (costo totale di circa  4MEuro) approvato nell’ambito della prima Joint Call ICT-Security del 2007.

E’ stato Nato Partner Director di una proposta  NATO-RUSSIA dal titolo  “Multi-Sensing System for Detection of Suspicious People and Prohibited Items in Airports” che è stata giudicata eleggibile per il finanziamento.

I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano: la diagnostica em; la diffusione em inversa; le applicazioni  Georadar; la diagnostica e caratterizzazione di di antenne; il monitoraggio dello stato del mare da dati radar. E’ coautore di circa 120 articoli su riviste internazionali e 150 comunicazioni a congressi internazionali.
